A life of scholarship, service and storytelling

Rajan Khanna is a Mumbai-based writer, researcher and public speaker whose work centres on Sikh history and the teachings of the Gurus, the history and future of Jammu & Kashmir, and India's strategic relationships with Pakistan, China and Afghanistan.

He served as Chairman of the Punjabi Sahitya Akademi, Government of Maharashtra, during which the Akademi hosted its first-ever Keertan Darbar at the Governor's House in Mumbai. His columns have appeared in WION, DNA, Organiser and NewsBharati, and he is a familiar voice on NewsX and on podcasts such as Prachyam.

As co-founder and writer of Shivansh Khanna Films, he has written and produced documentaries including the award-winning The Heritage of Kashmir, The Unfinished Agenda for NewsX, and Sanskritik Jammu Kashmir with the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts. In November 2024 he addressed the World Punjabi Conference in Lahore, Pakistan.

Beyond his public work, he leads the social initiative Swastham Foundation and the Mumbai firm C-3 Systems & Surfaces.
